What is The Marble Notebook

The question you may ask yourself, or others may ask you if you refer them to this spot is, "What is The Marble Notebook?". The simple answer is that it's the title of a blog. The more appropriate description is this: The Marble Notebook is a place where creativity breaks boundaries; a place where rules are always broken; a place where art, freethought, imagination, and topics with no point are 'the norm'.
"Where did the idea for The Marble Notebook come from?". Well, the idea for The Marble Notebook came from my friend and I back in seventh and eighth grade. We used to share a marble notebook (the kind for school) and into it, we put everything from conversations we had together, things we were taught and didnt agree with, drawings, comics, stories, goals, everything. During the eighth grade I had the rotten luck of having a horrible teacher who made me give her the notebook we had been writing in for ages. Being in a Catholic School, the principal became convinced we were going to perform a Columbine-like act on the school, though there was no such mention, reference, or allusion to that whatsoever, other than a poorly-written Starship Troopers knockoff.
My parents being quite unstable, and on the brink of divorce, took this 'news' rather harshly. My father proceeded to tell me that I wasn't creative, was never going to have anyone care about me, never going to get married, and my only hope was to get straight A's in school, or I'd become a homeless person. I was twelve years old. This only served to make me realize that creativity in all of its forms should be taken into account, expressed when you feel the need, and now, almost a decade after my father ripped up and threw out that marble notebook, I have resurrected it as this Marble Notebook.
